“For a 90 or so minute movie, it sure does drag its feet to its conclusion.”

“sinto que esse filme conseguiu ter sim,uns momentos tensos, mais não aquilo que realmente fosse dá um surto tão grande achei o terror bem fraquinho”

“Annabelle delivers the proper chills and thrills of its fellow Conjuring installments through excellent use of lighting, placement and special effects in all of its demonic scares”

“From start to finish, it keeps you on edge, building a slow, creeping sense of dread that never lets up.”

Published reviews, not felt experience — a different question from the one above, and never mixed into the FlickFeel score.
“The late-60's Satanic panic and housewifely ennui make for a surprisingly complementary mix of fear and paranoia in Annabelle.”
Inkoo Kang, TheWrap · 70
“Each time a character gets tossed in the air by some manifestation or another, the effect is cheesy. Still, I've seen worse. For the record, the violence in Annabelle is far less copious and sadistic than the stuff in the Denzel Washington movie everybody's going to.”
Michael Phillips, Chicago Tribune · 63
“Annabelle is mostly a grab into the Great Big Bag O’ Horror Clichés: sound-bombs of shrieking violins explode randomly, doors slam unbidden, rocking chairs creak by themselves, machines suddenly whir to life.”
Kyle Smith, New York Post · 63
“Annabelle works enough devil figurine juju to make for a modestly hair-raising prequel to the more satisfying scares of its predecessor, "The Conjuring."”
Robert Abele, Los Angeles Times · 60
“As a blunt object, a machine built to put nerves on edge and fingers over eyes, Annabelle is still crudely (and cruelly) effective. Fear comes cheap.”
A.A. Dowd , The A.V. Club · 58

“Tis time to move on from conduit demons. *** This review contains minor spoilers *** It doesn't have James Wan's name on the director's chair, but it's every inch a James Wan film. There seems to be a rut that has emerged where this new brand of horror film makers can't see that recycling the same ideas is, well, kinda dull. Insidious, Dead Silence and The Conjuring have their critics (not me, I like them all very much), but the timing was right for them to hit the mark of many a horror”

“I personally am of the opinion that _The Conjuring_ was pretty overrated, but I at least I could see why some people thought it was okay. _Annabelle_ on the other hand, was never at any point anything other than hackneyed, unoriginal garbage. No saving graces to be found here. _Final rating:★ - Of no value. Avoid at all costs._”

“The movie isn't really that scary. It's still a good movie. Just that dam porcelain doll looks creepy as hell.”
