“slow the entire pacing down dramatically, let the characters actually have moments to pause and breathe... the original run of the show had the most amazing use of shadow and lightning and that is all but almost absent in the revival episodes. “CC’s big emotional climax for the finale is one in which Scully tells Mulder that William isn’t his son, and really not her son too in a lot of ways, but a scientific experiment (which we are lead to believe has something to do with the chip on her neck.) Then with her next breath, she tells Mulder they’re going to be parents again and with the heavily implied subtext of “for realsies” (imho) this time as if she’s 100% sure the chip she still has in her neck has nothing to do with it?! ugh. LOL . Can’t say I didn’t see it coming. At least I’m not even mad about it anymore.”
