Two separate readings, not parts of the score — the score says how much of it held you, these say what kind of watch it was.
Nobody has rated this on FlickFeel yet. This is public discussion of this title, read into a curve. It is not a rating and it never becomes one.

➖ steady — Holds one level all the way. Pulled both ways throughout — never simply one thing. Marked above the line: 2 that landed as a blow, 1 that gave people chills.

“I wish they would have spent more time on her childhood since the scenes of her surviving on her own in the book have such a desperate feeling (counting out pennies, rationing food), but I get why they sped through since there is so much material.”

“I didn’t particularly like the ending, it felt a bit of a stretch for her to be able to pull it off all by herself.”

“the twist at the end. The film spends a good amount of time with the trial, giving you plenty of reasons to doubt that she murdered Chase. The biggest is the lawyer’s closing arguments. He goes through the timeline of events for her to have committed the murder and the film wants you”

“The movie felt incredibly rushed to me, which is often a problem with film adaptations of novels. Surviving after her father left, the company trying to buy her house, the first day of school, and the trip to Asheville are all things I was quite interested in seeing, and they all ended up being glossed over incredibly quickly. For all I know that's how they are in the book, but it seemed like a film that was struggling to cram all of a novels ideas into it's 2 hour run time.”

“laid out really elegantly at the start”

Published reviews, not felt experience — a different question from the one above, and never mixed into the FlickFeel score.
It plays better than it reviews — the watch lands harder than the write-ups suggest.
“The bluntness of its messaging proves to be a bit of a detraction, but the fact remains that Where the Crawdads Sing is a heartfelt, and gorgeous picture, the kind which major studios used to make all the time, and now feel like a bit of an endangered species.”
Liz Shannon Miller, Consequence · 91
“It’s a movie that resonates, particularly for those who felt drawn in by Owens’ novel, although certainly there will be viewers who find it trite or melodramatic. But this is a strong, satisfying adaptation that welcomes the audience into the marsh alongside Kya.”
Emily Zemler, Observer · 88
“Where the Crawdads Sing is at once a mystery, a romance, a back-to-nature reverie full of gnarled trees and hanging moss, and a parable of women’s power and independence in a world crushed under by masculine will.”
Owen Gleiberman, Variety · 80
“Daisy Edgar-Jones is the star here and gives an incredibly endearing performance.”
Alan Ng, Film Threat · 80
“Newman’s film gets enough right to be just as solid as a summer cinematic distraction as Owens’ book was as beachside literature. The atmosphere and beauty of the Carolina marshes are masterfully captured, and it bears repeating that Daisy Edgar-Jones is a magnetic leading presence, investing Kya with equal parts relatability and spiny distance for a character that seems to have leapt from the page, whole and vivid.”

Grouped by where it was written, because a considered review and a reaction typed an hour after the credits are different things. Every quote links to its source.
