Two separate readings, not parts of the score — the score says how much of it held you, these say what kind of watch it was.
Nobody has rated this on FlickFeel yet. This is public discussion of this title, read into a curve. It is not a rating and it never becomes one.
Read from 151 comments (95 from Reddit, 49 from Metacritic, 7 from TMDB reviews) — 51 of them described how it moves.
〰️ uneven — Peaks and dips, no clear shape. Pulled both ways throughout — never simply one thing. Marked above the line: 1 moment that made people jump.

“the movie completely loses steam. All of the tense back-and-forth power plays go right out the window, like the first two thirds of the movie didn’t happen.”

“most of my disappointment was based on the expectation that this storyline would continue to develop, and play a key role in the third act. Most of those well laid backstories seemed to lose importance before the climax, though. Ensuing violence is a fine ending, but most of the action seemed disjointed from the characters' previous motivations, other than a few poetic lines of wrap-up dialogue”

Published reviews, not felt experience — a different question from the one above, and never mixed into the FlickFeel score.
“Bad Times At The El Royale is creepy and mysterious in all the right ways. The tension builds as the non-sequential story allows the pieces to fall into place in mesmerizing fashion.”
Bobby LePire, Film Threat · 100
“The more that Goddard upends our assumptions about who’s good, who’s bad, and who’s going to live through the night, the more we realize that we’re rooting for all of these fucked-up people to get right with the world. It’s massively didactic, but in a way that encourages us to dwell on how we feel about these characters, and how malleable those feelings are.”
David Ehrlich, IndieWire · 83
“Bad Times at the El Royale may overstay its welcome a bit, and it never realizes the potential of its villain, but it’s still an engrossing, well-made crime flick bolstered by several fine performances from its ensemble cast.”
Jim Vejvoda, IGN · 83
“Though not as unpredictable as the preceding two hours (and nowhere close to the dizzying final act of Cabin In the Woods), the resolution is still a lot of fun, straight out of a thrilling dime-store novel you’d keep by your bedside table.”
Dan Caffrey, Consequence · 83
“With Bad Times at the El Royale Goddard’s comparatively leisurely pace may disappoint the more impatient, splatter-hungry genre-hounds in his fanbase, but for the rest of us, he has made impressive, enjoyable and gorgeous-to-look-at work of his “difficult second album” by defying expectations in a different way: broadening his scope, deepening his craft and letting the Bad Times roll.”
