what happens
A man takes hostages, including Joan, and threatens to execute them unless Holmes finds the person responsible for the death of his son. As Sherlock investigates, the captor gives him 16 hours to find the perpetrator before the statute of limitations on the crime runs out.
how it went
Left to right is this episode β its opening to its closing minutes. This is the one span the comments were always describing.

Two separate readings, not parts of the score β the score says how much of it held you, these say what kind of watch it was.

Not enough to put a number on. The shape below is drawn from what there is, with the widest uncertainty band we use β it is the start of an answer, not one.
Not enough people said when to name this shape. The line is what the evidence draws, not a finding.

what people actually wrote
Grouped by where it was written, because a considered review and a reaction typed an hour after the credits are different things. Every quote links to its source.
βI enjoyed the flashbacks at the beginning very much.β

βWhen the father was throwing around the lines of how painful it is to lose a child. And how he'd happily die in his stead, not for honour, not for parental responsibility, ... I fully expected him to fall into clichΓ© and say love, he'd do it for 'pure, unadulterated love'. The writers didn't however, and gobsmacked me with him saying it was plain easier. That a parent would do it for selfish reasons, of all things. I got swept entirely off my feet and it wet my eyes instantly, beautifully put and allround an amazing episode.β
