After being shot by an arrow, Ashina Sun's life is in danger. Chang Ge stays by his side and promises to never leave him. After he finally wakes up, Chang Ge proposes for the Great Desert to form an alliance with Tang in order to stop the wars and the sufferings of the citizens. Meanwhile, Tang sends Wei Shu Yu as an envoy to the Great Desert and sees Chang Ge there.
