how much it moved you
Two separate readings, not parts of the score — the score says how much of it held you, these say what kind of watch it was.
Nobody has rated this on FlickFeel yet. This is public discussion of this title, read into a curve. It is not a rating and it never becomes one.
Read from 54 comments (50 from Metacritic, 4 from TMDB reviews) — 10 of them described how it moves.
Thin evidence — the shape below rests on 10 comments. The shaded band is how wide the uncertainty actually is, and it is drawn to scale.
Not enough people said when to name this shape. The line is what the evidence draws, not a finding.

Published reviews, not felt experience — a different question from the one above, and never mixed into the FlickFeel score.
It reviews better than it plays — admired more than it is enjoyed.
“The film's unhurried pace will target it for discerning audiences only, but its wry humor and coolly amused observation of contemporary Japan should score with smart urbanites.”
David Rooney, Variety · 100
“Their (Murray/Johansson) brief, wondrous encounter is the soul of this subtle, funny, melancholy film.”
David Ansen, Newsweek · 100
“What's astonishing about Sofia Coppola's enthralling new movie is the precision, maturity, and originality with which the confident young writer-director communicates so clearly in a cinematic language all her own.”
Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly · 100
“Fraught with a deep sadness and sense of yearning. Yet, it is also an enormously -- at times, even uproariously -- comedic film, not because it feels any obligation to be "funny" in some contrived, screenwriterly sort of way, but because Coppola has set out to make a movie set to the rhythms of real (rather than reel) life.”
Ella Taylor, L.A. Weekly · 100
“The fact that this kind of serious material ends up playing puckishly funny as well as poignant is a tribute both to Coppola and to her do-or-die decision to cast Murray in the lead role.”
Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times · 100

Grouped by where it was written, because a considered review and a reaction typed an hour after the credits are different things. Every quote links to its source.

“The first time I watched Lost in Translation, many years ago, I really liked it. I am partial to quiet movies, which feature a good ensemble cast, wit and good dialogue. Often, as with this movie, the story is told simply from start to finish without complex bounces back and forth with flashbacks, or made complicated with multiple perspectives. And in fact, I bought a used copy of Lost in Translation on DVD. After all this time I finally watched it again recently. I still like the movie. I l”
