➖ steady — Holds one level all the way. Pulled both ways throughout — never simply one thing. Marked above the line: 2 that got a real laugh.

“the fucking ending. They have time left to bone after they've spent the entire movie trying to get laid and they choose to wait a fucking year. Like wtf”

“The lines "Hold the KY" / "But that's what we're known for!" was the point where I definitely settled into giving this two thumbs up.”

“There are a lot of fun hijinks to enjoy, and I laughed quite a bit. In fact, I haven’t enjoyed a romantic comedy this much in a theater for a long time. I looked over at my friends and could see the smiles on their faces throughout. Normally, I’d say you can wait for streaming, but this is worth seeing in the theater, especially as a fun date movie.”

“One Night Only is sexy, hilarious, and tremendously fun. It actually looks and feels like it was shot on location. It devotes just enough energy to its premise to be genuinely involving, and spends the rest of it ensuring its two leads become the kind of movie stars you can't help but swoon over. It's exactly what you'd hope a movie like this would be.”
Alex Harrison, Screen Rant · 80
“One Night Only shouldn't work. I am shocked that I left the theater grinning ear to ear and, one could say, fully satisfied. One Night Only is a high-concept, patently absurd romantic comedy that defies the odds and makes you fall in love with it. You'll want more than one night with this one.”
Nina Starner, Slashfilm · 80
“One Night Only still believes in the glorious unpredictability of New York, just as it believes in love and freedom and the joy and messiness of amorous adventures. It’s a movie extolling the pleasures of sex and the city, in that order.”
Stephanie Zacharek, Time · 80
“I feel like a storyteller has you as long as they can hold you, and Gluck, a veteran rom-com director, knows his genre well enough to let the premise of One Night Only be a challenge rather than an obstacle. But once he starts rolling, it becomes a sweet, funny ride that won’t leave you feeling screwed.”
